Sunday Intellectual Question: Food Choices

It has been brought to my attention that Mahi Mahi is just fancy island talk for dolphin. Now, I'm pretty sure that a platter of Flipper meat served with a tossed salad wouldn't be a big seller, but is it really the same thing? For that matter, what about hot dogs? I have heard many stories about exactly what is inside that little bag of mystery, and yet, shamelessly, I still eat them.

Does knowing what is in your food make it impossible to eat?

I can't believe we inspired an question? YEAH!!!!

I totally agree. Mahi Mahi is just not that great anymore. I prefer beef over cow, pork over pig.....So that begs the question why do we call chicken "chicken"? There's no need to disguise it...and we're ok when other things taste like Chicken???

Chicken... isn't that what Tofu was invented to replace?

I never understood that stuff... tofu... if you want meat, eat meat!?! What's the problem? Oh well... more meat for me!

As for the Mahi Mahi... eh... I'm not a big fish eater anyhow... where's the beef? ;-)

Kim you raise an interesting question ... why is chicken just called chicken? Roosters are annoying with their cockadooling but chickens just look funny and peck each other ... do they deserve better? Should we come up with another name for their meat?

Poor chicken! Cows are beef, pigs are pork, even deer is venison.

I guess you can't really keep a chicken's attention long enough to look it in the eye so it's okay to eat it. Same goes for turkey.

I for one have trouble eating steak when I think about those big sad cows' eyes. So then I stop thinking about it...
